About us

Infinite Pets is a professional pet care company serving Calgary, Cochrane and surrounding areas. We offer medical pet care, pet visits, overnight care, mobile nail trims, dog walks, behavioural consultations, dog training classes and are bonded and insured. It is owned and operated by Veterinary Technician and Certified Canine Behaviour Consultant, Jenna Hall.

Our mission is to provide professional, exceptional care with the least amount of stress to Pets as possible.

Our caregivers are uniquely qualified in that they are all either Registered Veterinary Technicians or Registered Nurses. This allows us to provide an important alternative for pets that have illnesses, require medication or have behavioural issues.

Our services are excellent for:

  • Post-surgical patients

  • Senior pets

  • Pets with Behavioural concerns

  • Pets who don’t do well in kennel situations

  • Pets with medical conditions that need specialized at-home care

We’ll WORK WITH YOUR VET TO ENSURE THAT YOUR PET RECEIVES THE BEST POSSIBLE CARE IN THEIR HOME ENVIRONMENT. WHETHER YOUR AWAY FROM HOME OR JUST NEED HELP WITH YOUR PET'S MEDICAL CARE, WE'RE HERE FOR YOU!

It’s so rewarding to see the benefits of doing certain procedures in the animals own environment using Low Stress Techniques. Things like nail trims, injections, fluid administration and shaving matts can cause so much stress in a clinic or other off-site facility. Pets are just happier at home. our hope is that more people will see the benefits too!

What sets us apart from other pet sitting companies?

We are the first and only Pet Care Company in Calgary that guarantees a Medical Professional for in-home pet care. All of our employee’s are Veterinary Technicians or Registered Nurses meaning we can provide superior care for pets that have medical or behavioural conditions and pets that require medications, injections, post surgical or specialized care. Signs of trouble or distress can be very subtle in animals. Our caregivers know what to watch for and how to act, which could be the difference between life and death for a pet.

JENNA & THE GANG

Look at all those happy smiles :)

It all started in 2004 with advertisements on community mailboxes in a rural area west of Calgary. It began as a fun side job while attending university, but has become so much more. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to make a living doing what I love most which is improving the lives of pets and their people.

Animals are my passion and I know many people share that same mindset. I wanted to create something that would not only give me the freedom to do what I love, but to provide the best care to animals with the least amount of stress.

I grew up on a hobby farm caring for a variety of animals gaining experience with dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, llamas, alpacas and many other’s including lizards, birds and other small furry pets. I competed for many years in equine sports, sheared and showed alpacas and currently enjoy training and competing in a variety of dog sports.

I am a Registered Veterinary Technician, Certified Canine Behaviour Consultant (CBCC-KA) and Certified Fear Free Trainer with over 10 years of experience training dogs and cats. I am also a recently published author in the Journal for The International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants. Click here to learn more about the training services I offer.

Jenna and her caregivers have looked after my cats for the past 10 years. I can go away without worry, comfortable knowing that my sweeties are well cared for and that she genuinely cares about them. It is an added bonus that Jenna is a Veterinary Technologist with a wealth of knowledge and experience. She has shown us a new technique in which we were able to give our senior cat SQ fluids and he barely noticed! She is always happy to share tips and guidance on other matters ie; trimming claws and behavioral problems.

Behavior & Training

- Veterinary Technician Specialist in Behaviour

- Certified Canine Behaviour Consultant (CBCC-KA)

- Recommended by Veterinarians

- Fear Free Certified

- Over 10 years of Experience

About The trainer:

Jenna is the only Veterinary Technician Specialist in Behaviour in Calgary and 1 of only 3 in Canada. She is also a Certified Canine Behaviour Consultant (CBCC-KA) and a Certified Fear Free Professional with over 10 years of experience training dogs and cats. She is also a recently published author in the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants Journal. The article can be found here: https://issue19.iaabcjournal.org/puppy-socialization-challenges-amidst-covid-19/

Jenna realized her passion for Animal Behaviour during the Animal Health Technology Program in University. While working in Vet Clinics, she discovered that pets were being euthanized due to behavioural issues and wanted to do something about it.

She has extensive experience with a variety of behavioural issues in both dogs and cats and comes highly recommended by a growing number of veterinarians in Calgary and Cochrane. She offers behavioural assessments, private one-on-one training sessions, virtual consultations, training packages and group training classes.

My DOgs:

I have 2 dogs; Ely is a 7-year-old Rottweiler and Thistle is our 2-year-old Border Collie. Ely has titles in Rally Novice, Intermediate and Advanced, Companion Dog and Trick Dog Intermediate. Our next big venture is obtaining the CDX (Companion Dog Excellent). I plan on competing in obedience, rally, agility, dock diving and disc with Thistle.

Training Method:

With all of the different trainers, classes and training techniques available it can be difficult to choose or know which one is best for you and your pet.

I train using Fear Free, positive reinforcement methods. The CVMA (Canadian Veterinary Medical Association) and the CCPDT (Certified Council for Professional Dog Trainers) support reward-based methods which are: ” humane training methods for dogs that are based on current scientific knowledge of learning theory”.

Positive Reinforcement Training uses things that motivate the dog (food, toys, play, affection and praise) to reward desired behaviours and removes the motivators to discourage undesirable behaviours. Clicker training is an example of Positive Reinforcement training that is used on a variety of animals (domestic and wild) worldwide. Every pet is an individual and something that works for one pet may not work for another. Discovering which motivator(s) work best for the pet is just as important as the training techniques, which is why it is a part of my initial assessment. You can learn more by CVMA’s article on Dog Training at https://www.canadianveterinarians.net/documents/humane-training-methods-for-dogs

COMING SOON! CANINE GOOD NEIGHBOUR PREP CLASS

The Canine Good Neighbour Program is a 12-step test that when completed successfully, will ensure that your dog is a valued, accepted member of our communities across the country. Canine Good Neighbours can be counted on to present good manners at home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs. The test is non-competitive and allows the dog and handler to demonstrate confidence and control in 12 steps. It assesses the handler and dog's relationship, together with the handler's ability to control the dog. Dogs are evaluated on their ability to perform basic exercises as well as their ability to demonstrate good manners in everyday situations.
